Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev welcomed a Croatian delegation led by Gordan Jandrokovic, Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, marking the Speaker’s first visit to Azerbaijan. Jandrokovic expressed admiration for the capital city, Baku, highlighting its impact on him.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Jandrokovic extended his congratulations to President Aliyev for his service to Azerbaijan and acknowledged the progress made in Washington towards enhancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He emphasized the high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Croatia and pointed out the potential for expanding interparliamentary ties through active interparliamentary friendship groups and collaboration between various parliamentary committees.
President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the congratulations and highlighted the historic importance of the agreements between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He praised the robust development of relations with Croatia, noting Croatia’s support for Azerbaijan’s relations with the European Union and NATO.
The meeting also explored the development of bilateral relations based on friendship and partnership, with opportunities for cooperation in energy, investments, tourism, and other sectors. Discussions included advancing relations within international parliamentary organizations.
