Davos: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, in Davos. During the meeting, the Qatari Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, to President Aliyev. In response, President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked that his own regards be conveyed to the Amir of Qatar.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, both leaders praised the current level of relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar. They highlighted the broad potential for further development of cooperation in various sectors, particularly in economic and trade areas. Both sides expressed their confidence that the strong ties between the two nations will continue to grow.
The meeting also underscored the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar in restoring Syria’s energy supply through the delivery of Azerbaijani gas by SOCAR. Additionally, the leaders exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, signaling a mutual commitment to deepening their partnership.
