Davos: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, on January 20 in Davos. During the meeting, Masrour Barzani conveyed greetings from Nechirvan Barzani, the Head of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, to President Aliyev.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and requested that his own greetings be sent to Nechirvan Barzani. The dialogue between the leaders included reminiscing about Masrour Barzani’s previous visits to Azerbaijan and his past meetings with President Aliyev.
The discussions also covered the potential for strengthening economic, trade, cultural, and humanitarian ties. Both leaders exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration between Azerbaijan and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
