Aghdam: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a new metal electric pole production facility owned by Construction LLC in Aghdam Industrial Park. The facility is expected to significantly contribute to both the domestic and export markets with its annual production capacity.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Nurlan Abbasov, founder of Construction LLC, provided President Aliyev with detailed insights into the facility’s operations. The plant occupies a 1-hectare site and utilizes Chinese technology, boasting a production capacity of 7,200 tons of metal electric poles annually. The project represents a 2.96 million manats investment, supported by a 1.2 million manats guaranteed loan from the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy. This facility employs 32 individuals and enjoys various tax and customs concessions available to residents of the Industrial Park. Concessions on VAT and customs duties during the importation of equipment amounted to approximately 443,000 manats.
The Aghdam Industrial Park, established by a decree in 2021, spans 190 hectares and aims to rejuvenate the liberated territories, enhance Garabagh’s industrial potential, support entrepreneurship, and boost employment in the region. The park’s activities include producing construction materials, packaging agricultural products, processing fruit and vegetable preserves, producing meat and dairy, manufacturing feed and fertilizers, offering services, and organizing cold storage facilities.
The government’s efforts to foster a favorable investment climate have resulted in residency status being granted to 32 business entities, with investments exceeding 312 million manats. Additionally, non-residency status has been given to 5 entrepreneurs. Investors have already poured 142 million manats into the Industrial Park, generating nearly 970 permanent jobs, primarily for residents of Aghdam and nearby districts. The Industrial Park’s residents have produced goods valued at 945 million manats, with exports accounting for 39.5 million manats.
