Davos: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev engaged in discussions with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, during a meeting held in Davos on January 20.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Prime Minister of Qatar conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, to President Aliyev. In response, President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and requested that his regards be passed on to the Emir of Qatar.
The discussions between the two leaders highlighted the strong relations currently existing between Azerbaijan and Qatar. They acknowledged the potential for enhancing cooperation in various sectors, particularly in economic and trade areas. Both parties expressed optimism that the close ties between their countries would continue to grow stronger.
The meeting also underscored the successful collaboration in the restoration of Syria’s energy supply, facilitated by the delivery of Azerbaijani gas by SOCAR. The leaders exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest, underscoring the importance of their ongoing partnership.
