President Ilham Aliyev Highlights Armenia’s Disappointment Over Trump Victory

Baku: President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan addressed an international forum at ADA University, where he remarked on the political implications of President Donald Trump’s victory for Armenia. ‘They (Armenia) counted very much on democratic administration to continue after the elections. So, for them, the victory of President Trump was a big disappointment and frustration,’ President Aliyev stated, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized that despite the political disappointment, the Armenian political establishment remains united on issues concerning Azerbaijan. He noted that this unity is consistent, regardless of changes in vocabulary, behavior, and tactics. President Aliyev stressed the importance of Azerbaijan being prepared for any potential threats until a peace agreement is reached and Armenia relinquishes all territorial claims as stated in its Constitution. He underscored the necessity for Armenia to demonstrate genuine efforts to normalize relations with Azerbaijan to prevent future military confrontations.
