President Ilham Aliyev Criticizes UN’s Inaction in Resolution Implementation

Baku: ‘Four resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council in 1993 were implemented three years ago, 30 years later,’ President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said during his speech at the SCO Plus format meeting, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Bishkek reports. ‘Azerbaijan is already supplying petroleum products to Armenia and providing transit for third-country cargo. Together with Armenia, we are working to increase the volume of mutual trade, expand the range of goods, and create new overland transport links. However, unfortunately, the UN played no role in the implementation of these resolutions. Azerbaijan entirely restored its sovereignty and territorial integrity on its own,’ the head of state noted.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan’s independent efforts in reclaiming its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The President highlighted ongoing efforts to improve economic relations with Armenia, including the supply of petroleum products and transit facilitation for cargo from third countries. Additionally, Aliyev mentioned initiatives to boost mutual trade and broaden the range of goods exchanged between the two nations, as well as the development of new overland transport routes.
