Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), on November 14, APA reports. During their meeting, they attended a signing ceremony for several crucial agreements related to the ‘Construction of the Main Irrigation Canal from the Maiden Tower Reservoir’ project.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, these agreements include an Agency Agreement, a Reverse Linkage Technical Assistance Grant Agreement, and a Framework Agreement between Azerbaijan and the IsDB. President Aliyev highlighted the significance of these agreements as a foundation for securing international financial backing for projects in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories. He expressed optimism about fostering deeper collaboration with the IsDB in future initiatives.
Muhammad Al Jasser acknowledged the efficient organization of COP29 and recounted his visit to the liberated regions of Azerbaijan in 2023. He commended the swift and hig
h-quality development of major projects in these areas and reaffirmed the IsDB’s commitment to supporting both public and private sector projects in Azerbaijan.
