Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was presented with the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity by Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, during a meeting on September 14. The award recognizes President Aliyev’s efforts in establishing peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev was honored with the award in 2026. As part of the award, he received a monetary prize of $500,000. In a significant gesture, President Aliyev has directed that the entire prize amount be donated to the Garabagh Revival Fund.
