President Aliyev Inspects Baku-Alat-Gazakh Highway Section in Yevlakh


Yevlakh: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev recently reviewed the construction progress of the Baku-Alat-Gazakh-State Border with Georgia highway section that passes through Yevlakh city.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Saleh Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, provided President Aliyev with an update on the ongoing construction activities. Key developments include the nearing completion of an underground pedestrian crossing and sidewalks, alongside approach roads that will facilitate two-way vehicle access.



The pedestrian crossing is designed to extend 48 meters in total length, with 37 meters of it being enclosed. Additionally, the approach roads are each 7 meters wide and will cover a combined distance of 3.2 kilometers.



The Baku-Alat-Gazakh-State Border with Georgia highway forms a crucial part of an international transport corridor that runs through Azerbaijan. The highway’s modernization is a significant step in enhancing Azerbaijan’s strategic position in international transport, linking the East-West and North-South corridors.
