President Aliyev Foresees Direct Armenia-Azerbaijan Transit Route in Near Future

Davos: President Ilham Aliyev announced during the panel session “Defining Eurasia’s Economic Identity” in Davos that Azerbaijan may soon allow direct transit from Armenia through its territory, signaling a potential shift in regional economic dynamics. The statement follows Armenia’s request to facilitate transit to Russia via Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan has already made unilateral moves to open corridors for Armenia. Currently, transportation between Armenia and Russia is conducted through Georgia, but Aliyev anticipates a future where direct transit through Azerbaijan will be possible, suggesting that this development is not far off.
