According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the appeal was read by Ramiz Rzayev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Judges Union, expressing a warm welcome and best wishes for the success of the event focused on advancing justice and ensuring judicial independence.

The statement highlighted the role of the International Association of Judges, which consists of national associations from nearly 100 countries, as a crucial institution in promoting judicial independence, strengthening the rule of law, and enhancing the quality and efficiency of justice. The association also serves as a platform for international dialogue and cooperation aimed at improving the judicial system, a cornerstone of the rule of law.

The address noted that Azerbaijan’s selection as the host for the 67th annual meeting signifies the country’s global recognition and the trust of the international legal community in its judicial system. Reforms have enhanced judicial efficiency, expanded access to justice, and strengthened judicial independence, with technology and digital solutions improving transparency and access to courts.

In light of global socio-economic transformations and technological advancements, including artificial intelligence, judicial systems must adapt and innovate. The annual meetings of the International Association of Judges provide a valuable opportunity for experience exchange and dialogue to address these modern challenges and shape the future of judicial and legal systems.

The address concluded with an expression of confidence that the discussions and conclusions from the 67th annual meeting will significantly contribute to strengthening judicial independence, improving justice quality, ensuring the rule of law, and fostering international solidarity.
