Police officer detained for extorting $8,000 from investors

The senior investigator for especially important cases of the General Prosecutor’s Office, Major of Justice Z.U.K. and his accomplice M.U.A. were detained.
The investigator extorted and received a bribe from representatives of a foreign company for a positive decision on the issue under investigation in a criminal case, the State National Security Committee said on September 1.
According to the intelligence services, even though the case was transferred to another body, the investigator continued to intimidate investors with criminal prosecution and received $8,000.
A criminal case was initiated on extortion of a bribe.
The investigator received $4,000 through an accomplice in Osh, and another $4,000 in Bishkek, where he was caught with a bribe.
He was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State National Security Committee of Jalal-Abad region for 2 months.
