Peace package that Azerbaijan obtained from Armenia on November 21 shows encouraging developments – FM

Negative rhetoric is harmful to the peace process. If the Armenian side wants to achieve development at least on the positive level that they have expressed in words, it must strictly control it, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov said at a press conference on the results of 2023, APA reports.

According to him, inconsistency is one of the main elements that negatively affect the process: “We often witness a change of position and approach. If we have ambitions, there must be a predictable, consistent line. We have been seeing optimistic messages lately and we hope that this trend will continue.”

The minister did not reveal the details of the package of proposals related to the peace agreement.

“As for the package of offers presented to us by Armenia and the package of offers processed and returned by us, I would say that I would not like to go into details. Because it affects the process. But let me say that there are still differences of opinion. There is a decrease in the number of
items with differences of opinion. The package we received on November 21 shows progress in a positive direction. It is difficult to say how close and far it is to peace. I believe that if there is serious political will, it is possible to resolve the peace agreement in a short time. No, if it is the opposite, then it will be extended,” the minister stressed.
