Islamabad: Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, welcomed Azerbaijan’s Minister of Justice, Farid Ahmadov, during his official visit to Pakistan, as reported by the Ministry of Justice to APA. Ahmadov conveyed greetings from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the Pakistani Prime Minister. In response, Shehbaz Sharif requested that his greetings and respect be communicated back to the Azerbaijani head of state.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussions highlighted the deep-rooted friendship and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, which are founded on historical, cultural, and religious ties. These relations have advanced to a strategic partnership level across various domains. The meeting underscored the significance of the Memorandum of Cooperation and the Cooperation Program signed over the past two years between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Justice and Pakistan’s Federal Ministry of Law and Justice. These agreements have facilitated mutual exchanges of experience and have been pivotal in strengthening bilateral ties.
The dialogue also addressed the effective cooperation in legal assistance and extradition between the two countries, highlighting potential areas for further collaboration in the field of law and justice. Both parties recognized the importance of continuing to develop these relationships and exploring new opportunities for cooperation.
