Baku: On the occasion of Turkic States Cooperation Day and the 16th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Agreement, OTS Secretary General Kubaychbek Omuraliev expressed optimism about the organization’s future. ‘On this significant day of 3 October, we celebrate both the Turkic States Cooperation Day and the 16th anniversary of the signing of the historic Nakhchivan Agreement, which laid the foundation of our Organization. According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the message posted on the official website of the organization highlighted the extensive growth of the Organization of Turkic States over the past sixteen years. The OTS, initially focused on priority fields, has expanded its cooperation to include nearly 40 different areas, such as economy, transport, customs, energy, agriculture, education, culture, health, youth and sports, digitalization, innovation, environment, and security. This expansion underscores the collective determination of the member states to turn shared visions into tangible actions, leveraging historical and cultural bonds for solidarity and progress.

He also commended the Kyrgyz Republic for its successful Chairmanship, which has seen significant initiatives and advancements over the past year. Omuraliev expressed confidence in the upcoming leadership of Azerbaijan, which will assume the Chairmanship during the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State in Gabala on 7 October 2025.
