Baku: In December of last year, Azerbaijan’s average daily crude oil production stood at 453,000 barrels.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this figure was reported by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in their monthly update. The data indicates a decrease from November’s production, which was recorded at 455,000 barrels per day.
Furthermore, the report detailed Azerbaijan’s quarterly production figures for the current year, showing a consistent decline. The production levels for the first, second, third, and fourth quarters were 466,000 barrels, 461,000 barrels, 458,000 barrels, and 456,000 barrels per day, respectively. In contrast, the average daily production for 2025 was 460,000 barrels, marking a reduction of 21,000 barrels compared to the previous year.
Azerbaijan is actively participating in the ‘OPEC+’ agreement, a collaboration between OPEC and non-member countries aimed at regulating oil production to stabilize the market. As per the agreement reached by ‘OPEC+’ ministers, Azerbaijan’s production quota is set at 551,000 barrels per day until the end of 2026. However, the country’s production in December last year fell short of this quota by 98,000 barrels, and the annual average for 2025 was 91,000 barrels below the target.
