Baku:An official welcome ceremony was held for the President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Thongloun Sisoulith, in Baku. The event took place on October 13 and was marked by a display of national flags from both Laos and Azerbaijan.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan greeted President Thongloun Sisoulith. A guard of honor was present, and the chief of the guard reported to the Lao President. The national anthems of both nations were played during the ceremony.
Following the anthems, the guard of honor marched past the two presidents, accompanied by a military march. Delegation members from Azerbaijan were introduced to President Sisoulith, and members of the Lao delegation were introduced to President Aliyev. The ceremony concluded with the heads of state posing for photographs together.
