Baku: As of October 1, 2025, 86.9 percent of the 1,653,132 taxpayers registered in Azerbaijan were individuals, 13.1 percent were legal entities and other organizations, the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy told APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the total number of taxpayers increased by 4.8 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year, with the number of individuals rising by 4.5 percent and legal entities by 7.2 percent. The number of registered commercial entities as of October 1 saw a 7.8 percent increase compared to the corresponding period of last year, amounting to 200,806 units.
In the first nine months of 2025, 10,724 commercial entities underwent state registration. Of these, 88.5 percent, or 9,491 entities, were established with local investment, while 11.5 percent, or 1,233 entities, were set up with foreign investment. Among the state-registered commercial legal entities, 91.9 percent were formed as limited liability companies, 1.1 percent as joint-stock companies, and another 1.1 percent as cooperatives, among other forms.
Additionally, 85 percent of commercial entities were registered electronically. Notably, the share of e-registration for limited liability companies with local investment reached 96.3 percent.
