Nizami Ganjavi International Center Hosts Climate Finance Roundtable in London


London: The Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC) organized a high-level roundtable during the London Climate Action Week focused on ‘Closing the Climate Investment Gap: The Critical Role of the Private Sector.’ The event was held in partnership with COP29 and COP31 presidencies and the Zero Waste Foundation.



According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions centered on increasing private sector investments in the energy transition, addressing the global climate finance gap, and developing specific initiatives ahead of COP31. The event was attended by Mukhtar Babayev, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Climate Issues; Samed Agirbas, Turkey’s Climate High-Level Champion for COP31; Nigar Arpadarai, the UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP29; and representatives from the international finance and energy sectors, as well as members of the NGIC.



The roundtable provided a platform for strengthening the private sector’s role in climate finance and accelerating the transition to clean energy.
