New Terminal Complex Planned for Heydar Aliyev International Airport

Baku: Heydar Aliyev International Airport is set to expand with the construction of a new terminal complex, following a record-breaking year where over seven million passengers were served. President Ilham Aliyev announced the initiative during a meeting focused on transportation issues.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport conducted an analysis predicting continued growth in passenger numbers, prompting the proposal for the new terminal. President Aliyev expressed his support for the project, emphasizing its importance in accommodating future passenger influxes and elevating the airport to an international hub for air transport.

The development of the project and feasibility study for the new terminal complex is already underway. This expansion aims to solidify the airport’s status as a key player in international air travel, ensuring it meets the demands of increasing passenger traffic in the years to come.
