New Cargo Route from China to Baku via Turkmenistan Launched

Baku: The first freight train has departed from Jinhua city in Zhejiang province, eastern China, to the Turkmenbashi port.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this marks the official launch of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor (Middle Corridor) from the economically developed Zhejiang province.

The train is loaded with 100 standard containers, which include clothing, accessories, metal spare parts, and other goods. After reaching the Turkmenbashi port, the containers will be transported via the Caspian Sea to the Baku Port.

According to the relevant authorities, the new transportation route is expected to reduce the logistics load from the Aktau port to the Baku port. It is also anticipated to accelerate the delivery of Chinese products to Central Asia and Central-Eastern European markets.

According to the information, this is already the 26th route opened by Zhejiang province for international railway freight transportation between China and Europe.
