‘Middle Corridor Development’ Joint Project Unveiled with Presidential Participation


Astana: The ‘Middle Corridor Development’ (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route) joint project was unveiled with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan. This significant event marked a collaborative effort between the two nations to enhance a key transport-logistics route that links China and Central Asian countries with Europe.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the heads of state were provided with comprehensive information about the project’s potential and future impact. The Middle Corridor is poised to play an essential role in boosting regional and intercontinental trade, as shipments from China to Azerbaijan are anticipated to triple by 2030 compared to current levels. This expected growth highlights the project’s strategic importance.



Furthermore, the presidents were briefed on various initiatives designed to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of the Middle Corridor. These steps are crucial for realizing the project’s full potential in facilitating trade and connectivity across multiple regions.
