Baku: The Mexican Pavilion was unveiled on May 18 at the ‘Urban Expo’ organized as part of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13). The opening ceremony saw the presence of Mexican government officials and Anacl¡udia Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event emphasized the importance of discussions at WUF13, focusing on measures to create human- and nature-friendly settlements. It was noted that the pavilion represents the principle of equal access for all to urban opportunities. Furthermore, it was highlighted that the 14th World Urban Forum will take place in Mexico City in 2028, with leveraging Baku’s experience in this process being of significant importance.
The inauguration ceremony was followed by a tour of the pavilion. The pavilion showcased initiatives and best practices in sustainable urban development and explored opportunities to enhance regional cooperation in preparation for WUF14.
