Measures Underway to Eliminate Cyber Attack Consequences in Azerbaijan

Baku: We assess the massive cyber attack carried out against a number of online media resources of our country on February 20, 2025, as a threat to Azerbaijan’s information security and announce that necessary measures are being taken to restore the operation of the websites, Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MEDIA) said in a statement, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the statement notes that relevant state entities are currently implementing urgent measures to eliminate the consequences of the cyberattack and prevent such incidents in the future.

“This attack on our country’s information security proves once again that our national information space is constantly being targeted by forces seeking to confuse public opinion, not only through the spread of disinformation and false news, but also through attempts to interfere with the media infrastructure and delete and change information from the source.

To prevent such incidents, we urge media organizations to be more vigilant in protecting their resources,” the statement reads.
