Kyrgyz President Calls for Enhanced SCO Role in Preventing Global Crises


Baku: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) should play a more active role in preventing political crises worldwide, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov stated during his speech at the SCO Plus format meeting. APA’s correspondent dispatched to Bishkek reports that Japarov highlighted the evolution of the SCO over the past 25 years, acknowledging its development into an influential platform for political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Sadyr Japarov stressed the necessity of developing preventive diplomacy within the SCO framework. He underscored the need for strategic action before political disagreements escalate into crises and potentially into armed conflicts.



The Kyrgyz President also advocated for reinforced collaborative efforts to combat terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, and transnational organized crime. These measures, he suggested, are critical for maintaining regional and global stability.
