Maryam Saud Al-Azmi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs delivered speech during the Non-Aligned Movement Conference on Advancing the Rights and Empowerment of Women, APA reports.
Referring to the war in she noted that today, 70 % of people killed in Gaza are women and children.
She then spoke about the situation regarding gender equality in her country. Maryam Saud Al-Azmi said that more than 40 % of employees of the Ministry of Defense, military engineering, and the banking sector are women.
‘Women make up 35 % of the country’s workforce. Women’s representation in our country is one of our priorities. We are among the top 3 between Arab countries achieving success in the direction of gender equality.’
