Khojaly City Master Plan Project Nears Approval Stage


Baku: The master plan project for Khojaly is at the approval stage, following the coordination process with relevant state bodies. Last year, the master plans for several cities, including Astara, Lachin, Gubadli, Goytepe, Govlar, Liman, and Khudat, were approved, and the coordination for Ganja’s master plan project was concluded, APA-Economics reports.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the cabinet’s report on the activities of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025, discussed at the Milli Majlis session, highlighted significant progress in urban planning. Alongside Khojaly, efforts are ongoing for the general plan of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and master plan projects for cities such as Nakhchivan, Ordubad, Shahbuz, Babek, Julfa, Lankaran, Aghdara, Khankendi, and Khojavend. Additionally, design work has commenced for Shamakhi and Yevlakh.



The State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture has approved unified urban planning justifications for several settlements. These include villages in Kalbajar, Lachin, Khojavend, Gubadli, Zangilan, Aghdam, and Jabrayil districts. Urban planning justifications were also approved for Agbend in Zangilan and Kerkijahan in Khankendi. Out of 364 submitted urban planning justification projects, 363 were approved in 2025, with 63 relating to territories liberated from occupation.
