Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Briefed on Drone Attack on Nakhchivan

Astana: Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev was briefed on a recent drone attack on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic during a phone conversation with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Minister Bayramov highlighted that the drone strikes, launched from Iranian territory, resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure and injuries to individuals. He asserted that these actions represent a breach of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Azerbaijan has communicated to Kazakhstan its expectation for the Islamic Republic of Iran to clarify the situation, provide an explanation, offer an apology, and implement urgent measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Kazakhstan’s foreign minister expressed concern regarding the attacks and conveyed hope that the situation would not lead to further escalation.
