Kazakhstan’s Embamunaigas Surpasses Oil Production Targets

Atyrau: Oil production at Kazakhstan’s Embamunaigas (EMG) has reached 2.6 million tons from January through November 2025, surpassing the planned target by 32,000 tons. The company is focusing on expanding its production capacity and efficiency.

According to Trend News Agency, Askat Khassenov, the Chairman of KazMunayGas, recently visited EMG’s Prorvinsk group of fields in the Zhylyoysky district of the Atyrau region. He was briefed on ongoing projects designed to enhance oil and gas extraction efficiency. EMG has outlined a strategic plan to increase oil output by 200,000 tons over the next five years, while also aiming to boost its annual gas production by 700 million cubic meters.

The Zapadny Karasor field, which has been newly launched, is anticipated to contribute an additional 70,000 tons of oil by 2026. Furthermore, EMG is progressing with gas projects at Western Prorva, with projections to add 100-150 million cubic meters per year in the first phase. A second phase is also planned to further increase output by 500 million cubic meters.

EMG is also focusing on the Southeast Novobogatinsk field, where a new gas treatment unit is being developed. This unit is expected to enhance domestic gas supplies and increase oil production from 20,000 tons to 110,000 tons annually. Moreover, the company has successfully produced 750,000 tons of oil from hard-to-recover reserves from January through November, which makes up 26% of total oil production.

Embamunaigas is currently developing 31 oil fields, with its average annual production exceeding 2.7 million tons.
