Astana: The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced the launch of a pilot digital service aimed at managing electricity tariffs. This new platform is intended to streamline the process of reviewing and approving tariff applications from energy-producing organizations.
According to Trend News Agency, the service is designed to digitize the entire tariff approval process. Energy-producing organizations can now submit their applications electronically, which simplifies and accelerates the procedure by eliminating the need for paper documents. The digital service encompasses the complete cycle of application processing, from submission to final approval. The system also allows for electronic signing of documents using an Electronic Digital Signature (EDS) for the approval of maximum electricity tariffs, which are set for a seven-year period.
The introduction of this digital service marks a significant move towards the digitalization and debureaucratization of the Ministry of Energy’s governmental operations. It enhances transparency and efficiency in industry processes, granting legal validity to documents via EDS. The system is expected to evolve further based on additional user feedback and the need to incorporate elements of artificial intelligence.
Developed in line with the approved Digital Transformation Roadmap for the fuel and energy complex (FEC), this digital service is part of the broader EnergyTech platform architecture being executed by the Ministry of Energy.
