Hong kong: During the 10th “One Belt, One Road” Summit held in Hong Kong, Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of National Economy, Yerlan Sagnaev, proposed a cooperative effort with Hong Kong to develop the international route along Kazakhstan’s Caspian Sea coastline. He spoke at a political dialogue session, emphasizing Kazakhstan’s historical involvement in the initiative, which has become a key element in international collaboration.
According to Trend News Agency, Sagnaev invited Hong Kong companies to participate in developing transport infrastructure and implementing joint projects on Kazakhstan’s Caspian Sea coast. This initiative aims to ensure stable growth in the transit of Chinese goods within the framework of ‘Central Asia – China.’ Kazakhstan is open to deepening cooperation with Chinese partners in this regard.
Sagnaev highlighted the rapid growth in freight transportation volume from China to Europe through Central Asia. This growth is attributed partly to the joint development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor. The TITR is a multimodal transport route that connects China with Europe through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and further extends to Trkiye and Europe.
