Abu dhabi: ‘One of the key issues within the framework of WUF13 is how to integrate young people into this process when planning for prosperity. Because how our cities will develop and prosper in the future depends on this planning, and young people play a key, central role in this process,’ these ideas were voiced at an event organized by the children and youth group within the framework of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event, moderated by Joshua Forte, representative of the Youth Advisory Board of the UN Habitat Program, highlighted the necessity for the full involvement of young people in all stages of urban planning and decision-making processes. Forte emphasized that for cities to thrive and prosper, it is crucial to ensure that the youth are not only part of the discussions but also play an integral role in the decision-making phases.
The forum, which aims to tackle urban challenges and foster sustainable urban development, recognizes the importance of youth participation in shaping the future of cities. As cities continue to evolve, the input and active engagement of young people have become essential components for achieving a sustainable and prosperous urban future.
