Baku: Azerbaijan, as the current chair of the International Transport Forum (ITF), places significant emphasis on the enhancement of the Middle Corridor. Discussions with regional countries and stakeholders suggest that this route will aid in the exchange of goods within both regional and global supply chains, thereby boosting the overall sustainability of the transport system, as stated by Young Tae Kim, Secretary-General of the International Transport Forum (ITF), to AZERTAC.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Young Tae Kim highlighted sustainability, resilience, and digitalization as three crucial pillars for development. He noted that various ideas and discussions are ongoing about the creation of new transport corridors. Traditionally, maritime routes have served as the primary channel for freight transport, he added.
