Baku: A delegation from Israel’s Bar-Ilan University, headed by Vice President Zeev Zalevsky, visited Baku State University (BSU) to discuss potential collaborative ventures.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during the meeting, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized the significance of Israeli higher education institutions in the university’s international partnerships. BSU is currently running a dual-degree program with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Plant Biotechnology at the master’s level and another with the Holon Institute of Technology in Computer Science at the bachelor’s level.
Elchin Babayev also pointed out the possibilities for developing cooperation platforms with Bar-Ilan University in areas such as computer science, high technologies, nanophysics, biomedicine, and additional fields.
Zeev Zalevsky, representing Bar-Ilan University, shared insights into the university’s offerings, highlighting its well-funded PhD programs and flexible research opportunities through international collaborations in disciplines like materials science, chip technologies, machine learning, along with the social sciences and humanities. He expressed the university’s keen interest in forming cooperative ties with BSU.
The discussions also revolved around academic and scientific collaborations between BSU and Bar-Ilan University, focusing on joint projects for PhD students.
