International Travelers Explore Reconstruction Efforts in Lachin as Part of Karabakh and East Zangazur Tour


Lachin: International travelers visiting Lachin were given extensive information about the region, APA’s local bureau reports. The special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Lachin city, Masim Mammadov, who welcomed the guests, provided detailed information about the reconstruction and reconstruction works carried out in Lachin, the reconstruction of the city and villages in accordance with modern requirements, as well as the process of resettlement of the population.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, it was noted that in a short period of time, more than 50 percent of Lachin city and 3 villages were completely rebuilt and put into use by residents, and about 3,600 citizens were permanently settled. It was also noted that modern infrastructure has been formed in Lachin. Currently, the Lachin International Airport, a new hospital, three schools, two kindergartens, as well as a network of hotels and restaurants that meet modern standards, and markets have been operated, and intra-city and inter-village roads have been built.



The travelers then got to know Lachin city closely. They visited the Gilabi Ceramics workshop and the Yurd Gallery on Heydar Aliyev Street and watched with interest the creative works of local masters. Under the leadership of Kolja Sporini, the head of the ETIC (Extreme Traveler International Congress) club, world-renowned international travelers visited Lachin city following their visit to Khankendi as part of their trip to Karabakh and East Zangazur, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.



The guests from 8 countries – the USA, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Ireland, and Portugal – including Charles Veley (USA), the founder of the MTP (Most Traveled People) international travelers network, got acquainted with the city of Lachin.
