IEA Projects New Record for Global Oil Demand in 2024

Paris: The International Energy Agency (IEA) has announced a revised forecast for global gas demand growth, projecting a decrease from the previously anticipated 1.5% to 1.3% in 2025. This update comes amidst expectations for a new record in gas consumption by 2026.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the IEA has highlighted that the tightening of market conditions is expected to significantly impact the growth of global gas demand, particularly in price-sensitive import markets. The revised projections suggest that global gas demand in 2025 could reach 4.27 trillion cubic meters, up from 4.21 trillion cubic meters in 2024.

The Agency’s assessment indicates that the growth rate will likely accelerate to 2% in 2026. As a result, global gas consumption is projected to set a new record, reaching 4.35 trillion cubic meters. The IEA continues to monitor these trends closely as the global energy landscape evolves.
