ICRC keeps engaging in global operations – spokesperson


BAKU: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is actively operating in many regions around the world, Spokesperson of the ICRC Office in Azerbaijan Ilaha Huseynova said at a high-level seminar on international rules in the management of military operations (SWIRMO) in Baku, Trend reports.

She noted that the “High-Level Seminar on International Rules in the Management of Military Operations” has been held annually since 2007, and this year marks its inaugural session in Azerbaijan.

“The ongoing seminar, a prominent event hosted by the ICRC, has senior officials from more than 70 nations. The seminar’s major objective is to enhance understanding of international regulations regulating military operations, analyze issues pertaining to the implementation of international humanitarian law on contemporary battlefields, and incorporate this law into military planning,” she said.

The “High-Level Seminar on International Rules for the Management of Military Operations” (SWIRMO), co-organized by the Azer
baijani Defense Ministry and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), acts as a significant gathering for the organization, uniting top brass from more than 70 nations.
