New york: Growth in major indexes continued on the U.S. and European stock markets, APA-Economics reports. On Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average on the New York Stock Exchange rose by 1.01% to 47,207.12 points, the S and P 500 index increased by 0.79% to 6,791.69 points, and the NASDAQ Composite climbed by 1.15% to 23,204.87 points. The NYSE Composite rose by 0.34% to 21,698.06 points, while the S and P/TSX Composite index increased by 0.55% to 30,353.07 points.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a positive dynamics was also observed in European markets. The FTSE 100 rose by 0.70%, the DAX by 0.13%, and the IBEX 35 by 0.44%. The Euro Stoxx 50 increased by 0.11%, while the CAC 40 index remained unchanged.
The growth in the indexes is explained by investors’ optimistic expectations regarding economic recovery and earnings reports.
