Baku: The network security of over 457 state institutions in Azerbaijan has been bolstered by their integration into the Azstate network, ensuring robust local protection. This was shared by Tural Mammadov, head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Security (SSSCIS), during a cybersecurity event in the city.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mammadov emphasized that Azerbaijan’s protective measures extend beyond internet resources. “This also applies to the special communications and state communications services provided by our service,” he stated. He reassured that even in the event of a global internet disruption, the operation of all state information resources within Azerbaijan would remain unaffected. The special communications and radio-communication services, particularly those catering to power structures and critical infrastructure, are independent of any mobile network and are designed to function locally.
Additionally, Mammadov highlighted the adoption of the Teams platform in state institutions as a strategic alternative to WhatsApp, aimed at minimizing external dependencies. This move underscores Azerbaijan’s commitment to maintaining operational integrity and security amid potential global internet challenges.
