German Expert Highlights Energy Cooperation and Green Transition Between Berlin and Baku

Berlin: Energy cooperation between Germany and Azerbaijan is particularly important given global energy challenges and the transition to sustainable energy sources, German political scientist and international relations expert Klemens Fischer said in the latest episode of the “Azerbaijan and the World” program, broadcast on the AZERTAC website.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Azerbaijan is a key supplier of energy resources, including oil and natural gas, to European countries. Supplies via the Southern Gas Corridor play a significant role in diversifying Europe’s energy sources.

Fischer emphasized that, alongside traditional energy, cooperation in the green transition, including renewable energy and green hydrogen production, is actively developing. He assessed that Berlin views Baku as a promising partner in these areas, and that technology exchange and investment could form the basis for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation.
