Founding Meeting of Turkic Forensic Science Network Convened in Baku

Baku: The Founding Meeting of the Turkic Forensic Science Network took place in Baku, marking a significant step forward for forensic collaboration among member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). Delegations from 15 forensic organizations participated in this inaugural event, underscoring the collective commitment to advancing forensic science across the region.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event included visits to several significant landmarks. Participants paid their respects at the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honors and visited the Alley of Martyrs, the ‘Turkish Martyrdom’ monument, and the Victory Park.

The meeting was attended by high-profile officials, including Abiddin Huseynov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Justice, Can Tuncay, Trkiye’s Deputy Minister of Justice, Birol Akgun, Trkiye’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, and Omer Kocaman, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States. Officials from forensic science institutions across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan also joined the discussions.

During the presentations, delegates highlighted the current state of forensic systems in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Trkiye, and Uzbekistan, discussing their capabilities and ongoing projects. The event concluded with the signing of a Memorandum on Turkic Forensic Science Network, solidifying the foundation for future collaboration in forensic science among the Turkic states.
