Foreign Professor Highlights Importance of Shusha Global Media Forum for Azerbaijan

Shusha: Hosting such an international media forum underscores Azerbaijan’s role as a significant partner in global discussions, particularly concerning media innovations. The choice of Shusha as the venue carries symbolic weight, Paolo Liebl von Schirach, President of the Global Policy Institute and Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Bay Atlantic University in Washington, stated to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Schirach pointed out that the global information landscape regarding the Armenian occupation was heavily skewed. He noted misconceptions that painted Armenians as victims and Azerbaijanis as aggressors, which he deemed entirely unfounded. Schirach expressed that individuals in other parts of the world, including the United States where he holds citizenship, often received either inaccurate or severely distorted information.

Schirach commended Azerbaijan for liberating occupied territories and engaging in sincere negotiations with Armenia. He acknowledged that unresolved issues remain, such as the lack of a formal peace agreement. Azerbaijan’s demand for amendments to the Armenian constitution is among these unresolved matters, as the document currently implies that Karabakh belongs to Armenia, Schirach highlighted.
