Badara: The first relocation to the village of Badara in the Khojaly district was successfully completed as the first caravan reached the village, marking a significant step in the resettlement efforts.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, on September 12, 14 families, comprising 56 individuals, were resettled in Badara during the initial phase of the relocation process. Each family received keys to renovated private houses, which have been upgraded to meet modern standards.
During the handover ceremony, Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, shared details about the new living conditions prepared for the residents. Gahramanov highlighted the establishment of essential infrastructure in Badara, aimed at ensuring a comfortable lifestyle and providing employment opportunities for the residents. The village has been rapidly restored with the provision of electricity, drinking water, and natural gas, and comprehensive measures have been taken to facilitate a sustainable settlement. Employment remains a key focus, and safety awareness sessions were conducted by ANAMA employees for the residents.
The relocation is part of the broader “Great Return” program, with further stages planned to accommodate more families. The village of Badara, which had been under Armenian occupation since 1992, was reclaimed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces following local anti-terror measures conducted on September 19-20, 2023.
