A conflict between citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan occurred in Batken district on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
The Border Guard Service of Kyrgyzstan reported the incident occurred between residents of border areas on July 24.
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan, residents of Ak-Sai village, D.J. and D.A. were riding in the car along Ak-Sai-Kok-Tash road. The column of 8 cars belonging to citizens of Tajikistan was moving at that time from Vorukh enclave of Tajikistan to Hojai-Aalo village.
According to the Border Guard Service of Kyrgyzstan, citizens of Tajikistan tried to move across. This led to fight between citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in Dacha area. A police officer of Kyrgyzstan arrived at the scene to prevent further escalation of the conflict. He was attacked by residents of Hojai-Aalo village of Tajikistan. Tajik citizens tried to beat him, broke rear-view mirror of his car.
Representatives of the Border Guard Services of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan held talks.
Law enforcement and security agencies undertook actions to stabilize the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
According to some reports, around 20 citizens of Tajikistan came into conflict with 3 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, when Kyrgyz citizen J.D. was beaten.
Besides, citizens of Tajikistan broke a car of a police officer of Kok-Tash rural police station.
Injured citizens of Kyrgyzstan were transported to Batken regional hospital.
