Baku: The laying of a fiber-optic cable from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan along the bottom of the Caspian Sea is scheduled to begin in the summer of the upcoming year, as announced by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Sameddin Asadov. The project aims to establish a crucial communication link between the two nations by the end of 2026.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Asadov informed journalists that the analysis of the route at the bottom of the Caspian Sea where the cable will be laid has been completed. The company responsible for executing the project will soon present a report to the operators and project participants. Additionally, efforts have commenced on the production of the fiber-optic cable, which is projected to be finished by the summer of 2026. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing digital connectivity in the region.
