Executive Director Highlights Azerbaijan’s Rapid Progress in Green Energy, AI, and Infrastructure

Baku: Azerbaijan is demonstrating rapid progress in fields of green energy, artificial intelligence, and infrastructure, as highlighted by Anton Kosach, Executive Director of Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Speaking at the Baku Energy Forum, Kosach emphasized the nation’s efforts in applying artificial intelligence-based technologies to tackle environmental challenges.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Kosach detailed how the Caspian AI Energy Transition Institute, in collaboration with SOCAR, has implemented the Methane AI system. This system enables comprehensive management of methane leaks within the industry. Furthermore, the institute is actively developing new molecules aimed at increasing CO2 absorption, with these innovations earmarked for carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects.

Kosach further commended Azerbaijan’s integration of artificial intelligence into its climate strategies, describing it as an approach that sets an example not only for the region but also for the global community. He noted that the transition period from COP29 to COP30 marks a significant phase where Azerbaijan is converting its ambitions into tangible action plans.
