Erdogan Highlights Development of Middle Corridor Through Azerbaijan


Baku: Trkiye is working to develop the Middle Corridor through Azerbaijan by integrating it with the Belt and Road Initiative, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during his speech at the SCO Plus meeting, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Bishkek reports. The Turkish President emphasized his country’s role in ensuring access to Western markets for the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Erdogan stated that Trkiye holds a significant position in diversifying energy corridors and managing geopolitical risks. The development of the Middle Corridor through Azerbaijan, integrated with the Belt and Road Initiative, is a key focus. The Turkish President highlighted the importance of cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in achieving these goals.



Erdogan noted that the SCO can facilitate the establishment of uninterrupted and secure transport corridors, as well as ensure energy supply security. He pointed out that cooperation in these areas is crucial for improving the well-being of the peoples of the organization’s member countries.
