Baku: The Energy Efficiency Information System will be established in Azerbaijan, APA reports. This is reflected in the proposed amendment to the law “On efficient use of energy resources and energy efficiency”, approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the energy efficiency information system of the body (organization) determined by the relevant executive authority will ensure state control in the field of efficient use of energy resources and energy efficiency. It will maintain a register of energy auditors and energy audit organizations and control their activities. The system will also be responsible for providing information and raising awareness, assessing efficiency potential, and organizing energy efficiency passporting of buildings.
Additionally, the system will post a list of economic entities and non-residential buildings subject to mandatory energy audits, a list of energy efficiency service providers, and a report on the current status and development of energy efficiency services.
