BAKU: All necessary steps have been taken to prepare and hold the election to the Azerbaijani Parliament at a high level, and all conditions and wide opportunities have been created for the participants of the election, the Deputy Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan Rovzat Gasimov said at today’s meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Trend reports.
He noted that a large number of local and international observers, media representatives, and various institutions participated in the election campaign freely without facing any obstacles.
‘Especially wide participation in observation is demonstrated by political parties and civil society institutions operating in the country,’ he added.
On June 28, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and calling for an extraordinary election.
The snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan is scheduled for September 1, 2024.
